Sid Mathur | Presenter (Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Showreel)

Published by admin on

In 2016 I began as the MC for the Mascot of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. The role grew rapidly, allowing me to step into a management position to assist the delivery of the largest Mascot Program in the history of the Commonwealth Games.

As the MC/Hype Man, I toured the UK with the Mascot, Borobi, visiting England, Scotland & Wales. The tour concluded in London where I had the honour and privilege of performing in Buckingham Palace to open the launch of the Queen’s Baton Relay. We later caught up with the Relay on it’s international journey when it visited Malaysia and accompanied the Baton on its visits to sporting venues, the home of the Australian High Commissioner and numerous iconic locations throughout Kuala Lumpur.

During my time with the the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation I wrote, co-produced, directed and performed the stage show for the Mascot. This show went on to tour regional Queensland with the Department of Education and Training, to a collective audience of over 12,000 students. It also toured Australia with the Queen’s Baton Relay Shared Celebrations as the Baton made its way around the country towards the Gold Coast.

Outside the Mascot Program, I had the opportunity to work within multiple areas of the Marketing team. I assisted the Events Team, co-hosting the One Year to Go Celebration with Australian Olympic gold medalist Giaan Rooney. I worked alongside the Digital Media Team to create and produce content for our social media channels to an audience of over 500,000. I also with our Engagement Specialists, conducting interviews with the GC2018 ambassador athletes for our television campaigns viewed by millions, globally.

As a versatile MC with a unique flair, I can help bring life to any event or campaign. For bookings & enquiries contact me today:
